ADULT BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU - GI

* Led by 2nd degree black belt Woody Hosler

Adult Gi Classes

  • Structured Learning: Classes often follow a format of warm-ups, detailed technique instruction, drilling with partners, and supervised live sparring.

  • The "Gi" Advantage: Utilizing the uniform allows for specialized grip fighting, collar chokes, and precise control, which helps slow the pace and build a deep, technical foundation.

  • Curriculum Focus: Instruction covers takedowns, positional control (guard, mount, side control), sweeps, submissions, and escape techniques.

  • All-Levels Approach: Designed for beginners to advanced practitioners, allowing for tailored learning and progression at individual paces.

  • Physical & Mental Benefits: High-intensity training improves cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and core strength while sharpening strategic thinking.

LITTLE KIDS BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU - GI (AGES 4-8)

Little Kids Gi Classes

  • Structured Learning: Little Kids classes focus on body movement and body awareness through specific drills, techniques and games, allowing students to learn in a fun and dynamic environment. 

  • Respect: We place a significant emphasis on respect for ourselves, our training partners and our coaches. Students will learn how to focus on instruction, follow directions and respectfully support their teammates.

  • Curriculum Focus: Instruction primarily centers around  positional control (guard, mount, back control, side control), sweeps, and escapes. Submissions are covered as well, but there is much greater emphasis on positional control at this age. 

  • Designed for Beginners: Our Littles program is designed for beginners, helping them learn about the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Kids from this program will sometimes graduate up to our Young Adults program if they are needing a more technical challenge. 

  • Physical & Mental Benefits: The games, techniques and sparring in our Littles program ensures that participants benefit both mentally and physically.

YOUNG ADULTS BJJ

ADULT OPEN MAT (GI OR NO-GI)

Open Mat is designed for members to train freely, allowing extra time to sharpen techniques, or explore new ones. Students can use the time for drilling, situational sparring or live rounds. New students must be approved prior to participating. Visitors from outside academies are welcome, but we ask that all visitors contact us prior to showing up.

OPEN MAT

TAEKWONDO (AGES 9+)

* Led by 4th dan black belt Jesse Angelini

Our Taekwondo program provides authentic martial arts training rooted in traditional techniques. Students learn correct kicking and striking fundamentals, while developing strong footwork, balance, and coordination. Each class emphasizes precision, speed and control in a focused and supportive environment.

 

  • Technical Excellence: Build a solid foundation in proper kicking and striking techniques with attention to detail and form.

  • Strong Footwork & Movement: Improve agility, balance, and coordination through structured drills and traditional training methods.

  • Physical Fitness: Increase flexibility, strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness through dynamic, full-body training.

  • Mental Discipline: Develop focus, self-control, perseverance, and respect — skills that extend beyond the mat.

 

Our classes are designed for students ages 9 and up and welcome beginners as well as those looking to deepen their traditional martial arts practice.

TAEKWONDO

MOVEMENT CLASS / GUMBY TRAINING

* Led by Emily Van Houten

 

Do aches and pains seem to be the norm instead of the exception? Are you tired of feeling sore after training or competition? Sick of spending hours foam rolling and stretching only to wake up tight the next day? Be honest, have you ever had a hard time getting your sweatshirt off? If so, it’s time to be proactive, instead of reactive, about your training.

Base Camp BJJ is happy to be partnering with Emily Van Houten to bring you Gumby Training. Emily brings over 15 years experience training first responders and professional athletes (including many world-class BJJ athletes). Feed your joints the movement snacks they deserve every Tuesday at 6:30pm.

This low-impact class will help you achieve better stability, mobility and dynamic flexibility. Be bendy, not breakable! You’ll recover faster, experience less setbacks and injury, and be ready for whatever life throws at you.

 

Free for Base Camp BJJ members, $15 drop-in rate for non-members (with discounted punch-cards available). Appropriate for any ability level, ages 12+. Hope to see you on the mats!
